OFA 2024: Jerramungup and Lake Grace-Pingrup split the junior and reserves premierships in tight grand finals

Jerramungup and Lake Grace-Pingrup shared the grand final spoils in the Ongerup Football Association reserves and junior grand final, each claiming a premiership in Jerramungup on Saturday.

The Eagles gave their home fans plenty to cheer about, overcoming inaccurate goal-kicking to clinch the reserves grand final with a 16-point victory over the Bombers.

The hosts booted just five goals from their 16 attempts but despite their errant kicking, the Eagles held on for a 5.11 (41) to 4.1 (25) triumph.

The Eagles held a two-goal lead at the main break and held their opponents scoreless in the third, but having finished the term with 2.4, as they left the door slightly ajar for their opponents.

A spirited Bombers side kicked two last-quarter majors to narrow the margin and kept the eventual premiers goalless but were beaten by the final siren.

Andrew Solomon-Maere, Austin Brown, David Turner and Charlie Mckinlay were all enormous in the Eagles’ victory and Ben Hislop was named best on ground.

Griffin Naisbitt, Christopher Poot, Myles Borgward and David Snelling were crucial for the Bombers in the losing affair.

The Bombers got their retribution in the following fixture by taking out the junior grand final by 18 points over the Eagles.

Not much separated the two sides throughout the match, before the visitors powered away in the last booting three goals to one to secure the flag.

The Bombers led by just five points at the first break, before the Eagles hit back in the second to even the ledger at half time.

Neither side could manufacture a goal in the third term, but the Bombers edged ahead to take a three-point lead into the last stanza.

Jaycob Trevenen booted an astounding goal in the last quarter and was brilliant for the Bombers while Levi Argent, Bryce Carruthers were important contributors.

Zac Langdon and Kade Lester were influential for the Eagles in an the tough defeat.
