A family living at Carrolup is without transportation after their vehicle was shot while parked on the side of the road, leaving holes in the panels, smashed windows and torn-up interior.

The vandalism occurred during the night of Monday March 28 when the owner ran out of fuel and had to leave the blue Renault Scenic parked on Watts Road near Ladyman Road.

In addition to the gunshot damage, the perpetrators also stole a large container of ceramic Canadian Blue Mountain Pottery pieces that are potentially valuable.

The pottery pieces are of dolphins and ducks and are green-blue in colour.

Vehicle owner Delson Smith said being without a vehicle would be a huge burden on the family.

“Together with the seven towns around here we’ve been trying to tackle the drug issues.

“We’ve been trying to bring the Noongar communities around here together and this little car here was taking us all over the area to meetings.”
