Authorities have found the body of a teenager who was reported missing on the Gold Coast, sparking a desperate search and rescue effort.

The teen, 17, was last seen in Robina about 8.30am on Tuesday.

Queensland Police launched the search to find the girl, with family and officers holding concerns for her welfare as she was reported to have a medical condition.

On Wednesday afternoon, in a further update, police said the 17-year-old’s body had been located.

“A report will be prepared for the coroner,” Queensland Police said in a statement.

A massive land search was launched in the Carrara area with assistance from SES crews and the public.

A command post had been set up at the AFL ground along Nielsens Rd in Carrara, with police encouraging “any members of the public who want to assist with search efforts are requested to meet there”.
