The West Live: Telstra to announce sweeping changes amid coronavirus crisis
Telstra’s sweeping changes to ensure people can stay connected in the coronavirus era will include scores of new jobs and free phone calls for certain members of the community.
Group Executive Michael Ackland will exclusively reveal the telco’s plans to help West Australians to The West Live host Jenna Clarke at 8.45am this morning.
It comes as thousands of Australians have found themselves working remotely, with many businesses shutting down regular operations to contain the spread of COVID-19.
Mr Ackland will also speak to Jenna about how the Telstra network has been coping under increased pressure, and how families can get their hands on extra data without paying a fortune.
Another guest this morning is Kids Helpline chief executive officer Tracy Adams, who will talk to Jenna about a worrying spike in children phoning about COVID-19.
WA Small Business Minister Paul Papalia is also expected to talk to Jenna about the massive challenges that face local operators in the unprecedented climate.
