Community stalwarts Cynthia Kowald and Gerry Watson receive life memberships to Katanning Historical Society
Two prominent members of the Katanning community have been recognised for their dedication to preserving Katanning’s history.
Long-time Katanning Historical Society volunteers Cynthia Kowald and Gerry Watson were recently awarded life memberships for their decades of service.
Ms Kowald has been involved with the society since 1984, while Ms Watson has been involved since 2000.
Over that time, both women have held major roles within the organisation.
Ms Watson is the immediate past president of KHS, having held the role for 15 years, while Ms Kowald has served as a long-time secretary.
They are still involved with the society.
“We are both very surprised and proud to receive the membership,” Ms Kowald said.
“It means a great deal to both of us.”
