Marshall Bowey got the surprise of his life on the weekend while he was moving a mob of sheep across his farm.

The Kojonup farmer realised one of his lambs had been born with five legs and six feet.

“It was walking a bit weird and when I had a closer look, I realised it had a leg growing out the side of its head,” he said.

“It was just so bizarre. I've never seen anything like it before.”

After posting about it on social media, Mr Bowey and his lamb — named Starfish because of her five legs — have been bombarded with media attention.

They are even set to feature on Channel 10’s Have You Been Paying Attention on Monday night.

“Numerous news outlets have contacted me for interviews. Everyone’s just so intrigued by this five-legged, six-footed lamb,” he said.

“6PR called me while we were tailing lambs. I had to tell Dad to give me five so I could hop out of the sheep yards and go sit in the ute while I did the interview.

“We just think all the interest in her is so insane.”

Mr Bowey said the lamb was in otherwise perfect physical condition and was above average in size.

“We’re going to keep it around the house and see how it goes,” he said.

“If the extra leg starts causing it issues we’ll look at having it removed.

“We want it to live a healthy life.”
