Star Upper Great Southern Cricket Association duo Rodney Ford and Grady Francis picked in Team of Country Week
Two Upper Great Southern Cricket Association players have been named in the Team of Country Week for their efforts during the senior week-long carnival held in Perth last month.
Country cricket legend Rodney Ford and star bowler Grady Francis were named in the team, selected on a points system.
Ford, who captained Uppers, was superb with the bat making 259 runs over the five days at an average of 51.80.
He smashed a remarkable 162 on the opening day and was the third highest run scorer in A-section.
Francis claimed the second-most wickets in A-section after taking 15 scalps at an average of 10.47.
Peel had four players named in the squad including exciting teenagers Corey Wasley and Teague Wyllie while Albany and Districts had Nathan Crudeli, Dan Rees and Ryan Kinnear.
The team is selected by a points system from runs scored, catches or stumpings, and wickets taken, and there are weightings according to each section played.
Five batsmen, one all-rounder, one wicketkeeper and five bowlers are picked in the team.
