Basketball association predicts a busy season
Katanning Senior Basketball Association is poised for a big season with record numbers of players signing up for 2016/17.
Nomination night was held on Monday, September 19 at the Katanning Leisure Centre with 12 women’s teams and nine men’s teams nominating from Katanning, Broomehill and Tambellup.
KSBA president Dom Pontillo said with so many teams and players signed up, the association would be hiring an extra assistant to help out with administration on each of the Monday night fixtures.
Pontillo said the season would begin late in October with the Katanning basketball carnival to be held on February 18-19, 2017.
“It has had a high attendance in previous years and is sure to be a highlight in 2017,” he said.
“The association would like to publicly acknowledge and thank everyone for their co-operation on nomination night, especially new and existing members for volunteering their time to make the 2016/17 basketball season possible.”
