Class of 2013 says bids farewell to school
Katanning’s Year 12 class of 2013 farewelled their school and the memories they made along the way with an annual valediction ceremony last Wednesday at the Katanning Town Hall.
Guest speaker Dustin Allen, a former head boy in 2000, offered students some advice as they contemplated which step to take next in their lives.
In a speech at the ceremony, Katanning Senior High School principal Nicki Polding praised the students’ efforts throughout their school years.
“The class of 2013 is full of character, enthusiasm for life and a preparedness to grab the opportunities that come their way,” she said.
“This group of young people is also amazingly talented beyond the curriculum.
“We have dancers, outstanding sports men and women, artists, singers, musicians, humanitarians, comics, and independent spirits who were accepted for their individuality and desire to stand out from the crowd.”
The best and brightest award went to Sein Hla Thian Bear, Mikayla Balloch was awarded the excellent course achievement award.
