Have an old pair of spectacles lying around?

Kojonup’s Lions Club could be their ideal destination.

The organisation, along with Kojonup Rotary Club, is collecting glasses that are no longer being used to donate to the Lion’s Eye Institute. The institute will then test and grade glasses to prepare them for use in countries where people have limited access to eye care services, including India and Indonesia.

This is the fourth year the Lions Club has held the spectacle drive.

Club member Alan Anderson said community support had remained strong.

“Part of the Lions Club ethics code is to help other people in need and this one example,” he said.

The collection will last until January 22, with more than 100 being donated so far.

Spectacles can be dropped off at Kojonup Auto Electrics.
