Katanning’s multimillion-dollar All Ages Playground opened last Friday after months of construction.

The playground attracted families all weekend despite the searing temperatures, which set all-time November records in parts of the Great Southern.

In Katanning, the mercury reached 39.5C on Saturday and 38.7C on Sunday.

It was a hot opening weekend for one of the most hotly anticipated playgrounds in the country.
