Plan for new playground in Kojonup
Kojonup council has approved the construction of a nature playground by the Kojonup Hockey Club and other complex users on the sloping area between the hockey clubroom and sports complex.
The construction of the playground will begin in summer next year, which will coincide with the new access road being built south of the swimming pool plant shed.
Kojonup Shire chief executive Rick Mitchell-Collins said the playground would be beneficial for everyone.
“It will be predominantly an early childhood nature play area that will hopefully suit the users of the hockey club, oval and sports complex, and to some extent even the swimming area in the summer.”
The estimated cost of the playground is between $8000 and $10,000, and the cost will be shared by the hockey club, the CBH Group and the Shire of Kojonup.
The playground is expected to be fully up and running by the end of March.
