Shave raises funds for leukaemia charity
A 10-year-old has made the bold move to have his head shaved in front of Braeside Primary School to raise money for the Leukaemia Foundation.
As part of Crazy Hair Day on Monday, Year 6 student Will Robson sat in front of his peers during assembly while his medium-length hair was shaved.
All students were encouraged to come to school in their wackiest hairstyle for a gold coin donation for the Leukaemia Foundation.
Will said he was passionate about supporting cancer research because families should not have to suffer.
“My neighbour’s sister has leukaemia, so I did it for her as well,” he said.
“It’s really upsetting how many lives it takes and I wanted to do something to help.”
Will has already raised about $300.
His mother, Katy Steed, is very proud of him.
“I think it shows what an individual he is, and he’s taken it upon himself to do the shave,” she said.
Students from kindergarten to Year 7 all got into the crazy hair-do spirit.
Sporting green and red hair to mohawks, everyone looked the part and had fun.
