The Central Great Southern Hockey Association’s regular season resumed last Saturday in Katanning after a one-week hiatus while players were on country week duties.

Tambellup continued their run of good form at the top of the women’s CGSHA table, beating Woodanilling 2-1.

Jess McPartland and Caroline Sprigg were Tambellup’s goal scorers, while Woodanilling’s James Cronin slotted one.

Tara Simpson and Kylie Lockyer each picked up votes for best on ground.

Kojonup Owls proved too strong for Broomehill, running out 5-1 winners in a dominant display.

Danielle Bartram scored a hat-trick for the Owls, while Jane Kowald contributed their other two goals.

Shanika Taylor was Broomehill’s lone scorer.

Home side Katanning finished locked at 0-0 with Kojonup Chicks.

In the men’s competition, the seemingly unstoppable Woodanilling placed a firm grip on top spot of the ladder this week as they downed Katanning 4-0.

The competition leaders have yet to be scored against in six rounds.

Rick Wise, Brad Garstone, Nick Slade and Matt Crossley each scored one goal for Woodanilling.

Zac Hatfield was again strong for Katanning and picked up votes for best on ground, along with Rick and Kurt Wise.

Broomehill and Kojonup 1 played out a 2-2 draw, with Zac McAndrew scoring two for Broomehill and Adrian Bilney scoring both of Kojonup 1’s goals.

In the final men’s match for the day, Tambellup 1 scored three goals against club compatriots Tambellup 2.

Goal scorers for Tambellup 1 were Josh Holmes, James Douglas and Alan Machin, while Dennis Bowman was Tambellup 2’s best player.

This week’s results leave the ladder relatively unchanged, with Woodanilling, Tambellup and Broomehill holding down the top three places.
