Volunteer of the Year 'overwhelmed'

Great Southern Herald

As part of presentations for the recent junior netball carnival, the Great Southern Netball Region announced the winner of its Volunteer of the Year award donated by Hannaford’s Cranbrook and Districts.

The nominees for this year were: Donna Dowdell (Ongerup), Fiona Mountford (Albany), Lisa Goodliffe (Denmark), Jenny Findlay (Denmark) and Jenny Cristinelli (Katanning).

The award went to Jenny Cristinelli from the Katanning Netball Association for her tireless work as a coach and committee member for her association and the region, including the preparation and running of this year’s Junior Carnival for her association.

Mrs Cristinelli was overwhelmed by the award.

“The other candidates were just as deserving, as I could imagine the amount time and passion they also put into their associations and clubs,” she said.

“It was a great honour in accepting the award from life member of Netball WA and the Great Southern Netball Region Anne Parsons. Anne has been the frontrunner of volunteers within the Great Southern Netball Region for many years and a fantastic role model to many.”

Mrs Cristinelli concluded by thanking the Katanning Netball Association for nominating her for the award, and also her family for supporting her in her efforts.

An independent panel of people from the sport and recreation field within the Great Southern made the final decision on the winner of the award for the Great Southern Netball region.
