Woman wins big on scratchies

One lucky punter has scratched her way to a $100,000 after picking up a scratch-and-win ticket from the Dumbleyung General Store on a spur-of-the-moment decision.

The winner said she chose to purchase the $10 Word Play ticket after hearing other people had won prizes from them.

“I was at work when I decided to scratch my ticket and then I went into shock when I saw what I’d won,” said the woman.

“I was stunned.

“It’s a really great feeling to win but it’s still so surreal.”

The winner said the money would help her retirement come a little bit earlier.

A Lotterywest spokeswoman said this was the 35th time a top scratch-and-win prize had been claimed in WA this year, with the winners sharing in almost $3 million.
