Young batting star Jaxon Clynk on Thursday put his stamp on the annual junior country week series in Perth for the Eastern Goldfields Cricket Association with a superb unbeaten century against West Pilbara.

Clynk, the EGCA’s under-14B Black captain, blasted 111 from 128 balls to underpin the side’s 4-230 in the first leg of the division finals at Cannington’s Coker Park.

His knock from the No.3 spot featured 11 fours and a six after openers Charlie Edwards and Keaton Marx both went cheaply.

Clynk was supported by Jobe Armstrong, who made 31 from No.4 and vice-captain Darcy Hunter blasted a quickfire 52 runs off 42 balls with eight boundaries before retiring not out.

Later in the innings, Toby Norrish contributed 12 runs from 11 deliveries that capped off a long day in the field for West Pilbara.

West Pilbara were 2-69 off 20 overs in reply.
