One of Australia’s most popular airlines has announced a huge change to its onboard experience.

Qantas on Thursday unveiled a new menu that will be introduced to every flight across its domestic network.

Passengers in economy and business will get more choices when flying, with 70 new menu items across six different meal times to be offered from October.

Economy travellers will be offered items such as chorizo, pesto and goat cheese focaccia, cottage cheese and spinach samosas, a triple-choc brownie slice and a cheese board with Australian saltbush chilli jam.

Business class flyers will get an even fancier offering of items including smoked salmon and cream cheese bagel, miso-glazed chicken and rice salad, and a dark chocolate sour cherry fondant cake.

Qantas said it would continue to serve Lindt balls and work with Aussie suppliers to provide the best options for passengers.

“While the refreshed menu will provide a variety of new options onboard, particularly for Frequent Flyers, favourites such as Lindt Lindor balls will continue to be offered, with Qantas serving over 2.8 million of the chocolates across the domestic network last year,” the airline said in a statement.

“Customers can also expect to see a continued focus on more sustainable food packaging onboard as Qantas continues to collaborate with suppliers and transition to more sustainable options.”
