Ahmad ‘Rashad’ Nadir: Second former Bankstown Hospital nurse charged over alleged anti-Semitic video

The second nurse caught up in an alleged anti-Semitic video filmed at Bankstown Hospital has been charged. Sarah Abu Lebdeh and Ahmad “Rashad” Nadir were deregistered by the Nursing and Midwifery Council of NSW, effective from February 13, after a video circulated online of them allegedly making vile comments about Israeli patients while wearing their NSW Health uniforms. The footage captured the pair speaking with Israeli influencer Max Veifer, who said he had served in the Israeli Defence Force. In the video call, Mr Nadir tells Mr Veifer: “I’m so upset that you’re Israeli, like eventually you’re going to get killed.” “You have no idea how many Israeli … dog came to this hospital and … I literally sent them to (the afterlife),” Mr Nadir later added while slicing his hand across his neck. Mr Nadir, 27, was on Tuesday night charged with using a carriage service to menace, harass or offend and with possessing a prohibited drug. He was granted conditional bail and is set to front Downing Centre Local Court on March 19. NewsWire understands Mr Nadir had been receiving ongoing medical treatment. It comes just a week after Ms Lebdeh was arrested and charged with threaten violence to group, use carriage service to threaten to kill and use carriage service to menace/harass/offend following extensive police inquiries. She was released on conditional bail and is also set to appear in Downing Centre Local Court on March 19. NSW Police Commissioner Karen Webb last week said Ms Lebdeh was banned from social media and from leaving the country under “very strict” bail conditions. She also said Mr Veifer had provided a statement to NSW Police in Hebrew. “It took some time to get a comprehensive statement as well as the unedited video, and when we did obtain that statement it was taken in Hebrew and we had to translate that into English to make it admissible into evidence in NSW,” she said. Ms Webb said 78 charges had been laid as part of Strike Force Pearl. “I must commend the work Strike Force Pearl detectives are doing to investigate, charge and put these individuals before the courts,” Ms Webb said. “There is a tremendous amount of dedication and hard work going into all these investigations. “Detectives have overcome many challenges – including huge public expectation – to put these individuals before the court.” More to come …
