A driver has had a miraculous escape after a large tree fell onto their car on Wednesday afternoon.

A white Suzuki was at the lights on Jon Sanders Drive outside the Glendalough Village Shopping Centre when a tree fell, smashing the windscreen, denting the roof and breaking the back brake light.

Photographs from the scene show branches lying across the car as authorities work to remove the tree.

Police were also at the scene and confirmed no one was injured in the incident.

The incident caused traffic chaos along the busy road, with the tree blocking part of the street during peak hour.
