Caitlin Bassett hosts netball clinic

Budding netball stars had the chance to put their skills to the test with a Commonwealth Games athlete last week.

Caitlin Bassett hosted a netball clinic in partnership with the CBH Group last Tuesday at the Katanning Leisure Centre.

Bassett was en route to the Newdegate Field Days and was able to fit in the drill in Katanning on her way to the annual event.

There was a strong turnout, with players young and old wishing to learn skills from one of the nation's best netballers.

The Commonwealth Games Gold medallist said she made the most of her time out in regional WA.

"I love coming out here, it's such a different experience to city living," she said.

Bassett said the clinics would provide young players with the opportunity to develop their skills.

"Kids in metro areas have a lot more access to clinics like this so I really make the most of my time out here helping the next generation of netballers with their skills," she said.

"I also love hearing their stories about life on the farm.

"I'm city born and bred, so it's a completely different experience for me."
