The Cranbrook Hotel is not afraid to get a little ugly as it helps raise funds for regional families affected by leukaemia.

Taking part in the Leukaemia Foundation's U.G.L.Y. Bartender of the Year Campaign for the third year running, the pub has hosted a range of events in the past few weeks, already raising more than $8000 for the cause.

Hotel owner Stephen Woodcock was crowned U.G.L.Y. Bartender of the Year last year after raising the most funds in WA, which go towards providing accommodation for rural families who have been burdened with the disease.

"So far they were on track for another good year," he said.

"It's only proof last year how supported we are in such a small regional community.

"And that is what we are about, plus it's also about making something fun out of it, and all our nights have been well received."

With three weeks left in the campaign, Leukaemia Foundation in WA general manager Andrew York said the impact of a blood cancer diagnosis was greater for people in regional and rural Australia than for metropolitan residents.

"It means leaving work, school and family behind to relocate to the city, adding to emotional turmoil," he said.

"Supporting your local U.G.L.Y. bartender over the next few weeks is an easy way to help keep families together at a time when they need each other most."

The hotel hosted a Day in the Brook event on October 17 and a Halloween party on October 31.

It will host a P Party for its final U.G.L.Y. event this Saturday.
