Letter to the Editor: Albany is an inclusive community - why the hurtful drama?

The Keeping Children Safe group raised concerns that gave rise to motions at the recent special electors meeting regarding the suitability and classification of items in the Albany Public Library collection.

In my view, those motions have no relevance.

As I advised the group in social media approximately two weeks ago, such concerns should be referred to the Australian Classification Board by those concerned — it is not the council’s role.

While I support folk to hold to values, provided no harm is being done, that does not mean everyone must conform, or even agree.
