Damien John Wright: Leederville man pleads not guilty to smashing 63 City of Vincent windows
A Leederville man accused of smashing more than 60 windows of a local government building and causing up to $120,000 damage has pleaded not guilty.
Damien John Wright fronted Perth Magistrates Court on Tuesday and pleaded not guilty to deliberately damaging 63 windows at the City of Vincent’s administration building in July.
Mr Wright pleaded guilty to separate charges of possession of testosterone and possession of a prohibited weapon.
In July, the court heard that about 10.30pm on July 23, the 41-year-old used a hammer to deliberately smash the windows before turning up to a press conference at the building the following day, where he allegedly verbally abused staff and made “multiple threats” because rangers had seized and destroyed his dog.
Mr Wright was taken into custody but was granted bail on July 29 under the condition he report to a police station and stay at least 5m away from the City of Vincent building.
He will appear in court again on December 3.
