Federal Government says full fibre broadband now available at more than 500,000 homes and businesses in WA

The Albanese Government says more than 500,000 homes and businesses in WA are now able to upgrade to a full fibre broadband connection. That’s thanks to a $2.4 billion investment over four years to boost full-fibre to the premises NBN access, delivering speeds 18 times faster than the average broadband connection over copper. Communications Minister Michelle Rowland said full fibre broadband was essential infrastructure in 2024, delivering faster speeds while streaming, gaming and working from home. “Access to this technology is a gamechanger for families who have had to struggle with drop outs and slow speeds over copper,” Ms Rowland said. “I strongly encourage households to check the NBN Co website to see if you might be eligible for a full-fibre upgrade.” Local government areas in Perth with access to faster fibre connections include parts of Stirling, Wanneroo, Gosnells, Rockingham and Canning.
