West Australian defender Jack Carroll has been delisted by Carlton despite playing its final 15 matches of the home-and-away season.

The 21-year-old has not been offered a new deal after 21 games, including 15 this season since a recall in round six against Brisbane.

He was dropped for Carlton’s elimination final defeat to the Lions at the Gabba.

Sam Durdin and Matt Carroll have also been delisted in the Blues’ latest round of list cuts, but have both been offered the opportunity to train with the club.

Carroll was taken with pick 41 in the 2020 draft. The Geraldton product played WAFL colts for East Fremantle.

“Jack leaves the football club with lifelong friendships, which is a testament to the positive contribution he made to the group during his four seasons with us and we wish him well for the next opportunity in his career,” Blues list boss Nick Austin said.

It now means Carroll can be picked up as a delisted free-agent by clubs in the pre-season.

He is the latest in a string of West Aussies to be cut this off-season, with Port Adelaide not renewing the contract of Quinton Narkle, who looks set to join Fremantle.

Hawthorn defender and former first-round selection Denver Grainger-Barras has had interest from West Coast and Carlton since being axed last week.
