It’s always tricky playing on a heavy (10) but I’m confident a son of Group 1-placed mare Catkins will handle the conditions and give us a decent sight at juicy odds at the Sale meeting on Monday which was transferred from Sunday.

BEST BET

MY DELIGHT $2.15

Race 7 No 4

Handy mare from the Anthony and Sam Freedman yard that went well at Caulfield last time out and will relish the drop in grade. First go on heavy ground but she’s finished in the money in four of her five starts on soft tracks, so she should handle it as good as any in this field. Drawn well and looks the one to beat.

KOROBEINIKI – $5

Race 4 No 9

This filly is yet to see anything worse than a good (4) in her three starts, so that is the query, but she looks to have a good upside judging by her last start effort over 1400m at Sale. Showed plenty of fight to just go down in the final strides and it’s worth noting two horses from the race have since come out and won.

VALUE BET

CAT D’ORO – $9

Race 6 No 8

His mother Catkins was a swimmer and similar to the Group 1 placed mare, Cat D’oro thrives in rain affected conditions. Has placings behind the likes of Black Duke and Yardstick on wet tracks while his only win was a three length romping on a heavy (8) at Goulburn. Out wide may be the place to be at this stage of the day, Cat D’oro looks value at the each-way odds on offer.

Jockey – Brian Park

Fresh off a winner at Mornington on Saturday, Brian Park can continue the momentum with a strong book of rides at Sale on Monday.

EL CHILLA (Race 1 No 11 – $7.50), CAPINO (Race 2 No 4 – $11), KOROBEINIKI (Race 4 No 9 – $4.80), JENNI ESPRIT (Race 5 No 4 – $6), TYCOON RAFF (Race 6 No 6 – $18)
