Trinity College won’t have it all their way at the PSA WA Head of the River this season.

Last year’s winners have tasted success on the water already this season, but their bid for back-to-back Challenge Cup titles as Head of the River winners is set to be tested by the likes of Hale School, Scotch College and Christ Church Grammar School after an incredibly even rowing season overall.

Hale School’s First XVIII sat on top of the podium for the third time this season in the penultimate regatta leading into the showpiece race, giving them the hot hand leading into Saturday’s event at Champion Lakes.

Trinity have finished no worse than third in each lead-up event, while Christ Church have also been a constant on the podium.

With a forecast of moderate easterly winds easing across the morning, conditions are set for an open race for the First VIII’s at 11am at Champion Lakes Regatta Centre.

The regatta begins at 9am, with all races live, free and on demand on Streamer.
