Service game wins award nomination

With a true passion for the sport, Katanning's Andrea Rundle has always strived to help today's young tennis players reach their full potential.
In recognition of her dedication and service to Tennis West and the School Sports body for more than 21 years, Rundle was a nominated as a finalist for the 2014-15 Service to Tennis Award earlier this month.
"I am just grateful for the opportunity and being able to be involved, because it is a real honour and a privilege being able to watch these kids," Rundle said.
"They are the best kids, and when they are playing they are on the national stage, playing the best players in Australia."
Country week co-ordinator for Katanning Senior High School and School Sport WA tour leader, Rundle has been helping devise criteria and collect tournament results for the State team selection process.
"Taking the kids away, you really become a tight-knit group and it's about instilling that teamwork and recognising what an honour it is to represent your State or your community or family," she said.
"Once you put on that State shirt, you are not just playing for yourself."
Rundle has watched the likes of Nick Kyrgios and Thanasi Kokkinakis since they were 10 years old and is currently with the State under-13s teams at the National Championships in Hobart.
"I have a passion for tennis and always have, just being involved, watching that talent and helping promote the sport in general has been fantastic," she said.
