Harvey’s finest cheeses, wines and meats will be on the plates of guests at the Harvey Harvest Festival’s Long Table Lunch this weekend.

The sold-out event will see more than 100 people in Harvey enjoy a lavish meal prepared by professional chefs using locally grown ingredients.

Hosted by Harvey Main Street committee member and long-time stalwart of the festival Julie Moloney, she said she was looking forward to bringing something new to the festival and celebrating local producers.

“The Harvest Festival is a great celebration of the local produce, it’s a really big event for Harvey and it brings a lot of people together,” she said.

“We always get a heap of people coming in from Mandurah and Bunbury, and this event introduces them to Harvey.

“We would love to have more people coming down here and staying for the weekend to experience what the Harvey region has to offer.”

Mrs Moloney has been involved with the festival since 2018 as part of the committee along with her friend Karen Whittock, who helped come up with the idea.

Initially the pair ran an art safari on Mrs Whittock’s property showcasing artists and producers from across the region with this year’s lunch set to be a totally new experience.

“This will be something people haven’t had here before,” she said.

It is described as a delectable multi-course menu, expertly prepared using seasonal, locally sourced ingredients, paired with a selection of Harvey wines, local beers and non-alcoholic beverages, catered by wedding company Citrons.
